An Overview of How to Use the ServiceNow Platform

The IP&O ServiceNow Implementation Process

Requirements Workshop

The Requirements Workshop is the first opportunity for the ServiceNow Pro Services Team to learn about the overall departmental workflows, processes, and procedures of Records Management, and how employees perform their jobs daily.

As part of the ServiceNow Implementation Core Team, you and your team are the subject matter experts and understand the culture and processes of your unit at Rutgers; an open and honest dialogue throughout these collaborative workshops is vital for our success.

These workshops have two primary objectives:

Detail the workflows, processes, and procedures that your department performs daily. This will be described from the perspective of the end-user in a ServiceNow feature called a Story. To learn more about Stories, click here. Categorize the services your group offers in a way that would make sense to the end-user. This will be reflected in the forms that end-users will use to request work from your group.

We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!

Daily Standups

As your team progresses through the 30-minute Daily Stand-ups, members of your team may be assigned new Stories that detail a set of instructions that must be performed within the ServiceNow portal.

To help prepare you for this process, we have produced a short video that demonstrates the basic layout of the Story Form and highlights some common actions and relevant fields.
