The Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) is committed to maintaining a safe and accessible parking environment across all Rutgers campuses. As part of this ongoing effort, citation fine amounts will be increased effective August 1, 2026.
Student parking permits for Rutgers–Camden and Rutgers–Newark will go on sale on Wednesday, August 12. Rutgers–New Brunswick student parking permits will go on sale on Wednesday, August 19.
Rutgers University Division of Institutional Planning & Operations Parking Services will soon be undertaking an extensive parking lot restoration project affecting all parking lots around the Stanley S. Bergen, Jr. Building (Lots 5, 5A, 5B, 6 and 7).
To park in a Rutgers-owned or leased parking lot or deck, faculty and staff must obtain a 2026-2027 Parking E-Permit.
Rutgers is no longer partnered with Passport Parking.

Effective Wednesday, October 2, additional parking will be available for the Rutgers Newark Commuter East permit holders with the addition of a new parking deck on University Avenue.
The Department of Transportation Services (DOTS), Parking Services unit, launched a new and improved parking permit system on July 30.
